Mayu was born in Japan in 1984, she studied at Tokyo University of the Arts and majored music aesthetics. Her theme of the thesis was “Decoration of Music, Music of Decoration”. She plays accordion and piano, composes and sing.
Mayu is a member of an accordion and song duo “Momotsubaki*” and an alternative folk band “Hyogen.”
She collaborates her works with dance, architecture, poetry, photos, video, flowers, theater. Mayu participated with Hyogen in the Setouchi International Art Festival in 2013. Mayu teaches music classes for children “Otonoterakoya” and working on “music circus” with children.
In 2014 Mayu collaborated with Umitaro Abe and Hirofumi Nakamura composing, and performing the creation WALLFLOWER.
